Sam Yancey, Haywood County Schools, K-12 Gifted Teacher

Samuel Yancey, M.A.T., UNC-Chapel Hill, has twelve years of experience teaching in North Carolina Public schools, with service at the elementary, middle, and high school level. He is currently a K-12 gifted education teacher continually working to challenge and stretch his gifted students with hands-on, innovative, and creative STEAM learning experiences. 

Previous to teaching gifted students, Sam was recognized at the local and state level for high growth for all types of learners. In the 2019-2020 year, Sam has successfully secured seven grants, providing STEAM education to rural, Title I students who often lack access and opportunities.
