Jennifer Flores
Jennifer previously taught for 6 years before becoming an education consultant for SAM Labs. She received degrees in Elementary Education with a focus on world history, as well as Curriculum Development and Instruction, graduating with top honors from Michigan State University.
Jennifer’s education background includes teaching 1st, 2nd and 4th grade in Title 1 schools. She has a passion for supporting and empowering at-risk students. During her time as a teacher, she also managed the elementary Destination Imagination team which focused on developing all aspects of STEAM, ran an upper elementary coding club, developed K-2 units of study, and trained fellow educators on best literacy practices.
Katie Sandfort
Katie Sandfort earned her Bachelor’s in English and her Master’s in Teaching from Colorado College, then went on to teach in Denver Public Schools for three years as an eighth grade language arts teacher.
While a teacher, she also started a Girls Who Code club to encourage girls to explore coding in a supportive environment. Her Girls Who Code club ignited a passion for STEAM education, which led her to her role at SAM Labs. Passionate about giving students opportunities to collaborate and think critically, Katie loves bringing STEAM and Coding to life through the hands-on activities provided by SAM Labs.
